The Gospel According to Grit: Why God Didn’t Spare You the Hard Thing

Let’s go ahead and say the quiet part out loud:

Sometimes it feels like God could’ve stepped in…but didn’t. And that makes you want to throw a hymnal across the room and say, “Seriously, Lord?”

We’ve been there. On the kitchen floor. In the car, screaming like you’re in a praise and protest service. Praying with your eyes open and one eyebrow raised like, “You good up there?”

Because if God is so good (which He is), and He loves you so much (which He does), why didn’t He block it?

Why did He let you go through the divorce, the betrayal, the diagnosis, the bankruptcy, the betrayal from the church folk you fed and fasted for? Why did He let you be the one who had to carry all that when you were trying to be faithful?

Let me tell you something that’s gonna sound just a little bit illegal at first:

God didn’t spare you the hard thing…because He was forging you for the holy thing.

✨ Diamonds Aren’t Formed in a Gift Bag

I don’t know who needs to hear this — but you're not a throw pillow. You’re a weapon. A tool. A walking sign and wonder. And you don't get made in a boutique. You get made in the blast furnace.

We pray for power, but when the pressure comes, we think God’s gone missing. Sis. The pressure is the process. That fire? That’s the Holy Ghost gym. You’re in spiritual CrossFit.

It wasn’t a punishment. It was preparation. God didn’t sit back and let you suffer — He stepped in and supervised the shaping.

💪 The Oil Only Flows From the Crushed

You want anointing? You want authority? You want to break generational curses like glowsticks at a midnight praise party?

Then you’ve gotta be crushed. There’s no oil without the pressing.

You thought you were falling apart, but you were falling into alignment.

😤 And Can We Talk About How You Didn’t Quit?

Everybody talks about the victory — nobody posts about the crying in the pantry, the fights where you had to bite your tongue bloody, or the nights where brushing your teeth felt like a win.

But I see you didn’t quit. didn’t curse God and walk away. You might’ve limped, but you kept limping forward.

Girl… that’s grit. That’s gospel.

🎯 What If Your Breaking Was the Blessing?

We love to preach about David slaying Goliath, but you know what’s real? David had to dodge spears, live in caves, beg for bread, and pretend to be insane in front of a Philistine king.

God anointed him — and then sent him into the wilderness with a price on his head. You want to be chosen? Better pack snacks.

This Ain’t Just a Testimony — It’s a Toolkit

Everything you’ve survived? It’s not just for a cute Instagram post. It’s not just “your story.” It’s your strategy.

You’ve got keys now, sis—keys to help the next woman unlock her cage.

You’ve got divine street cred. You’re a spiritual midwife with blood on your hands and glory in your voice.

👑 Don’t Waste the Grit. Walk in the Glory.

You thought the hard thing was proving God didn’t love you? Oh no, sweetheart.

The hard thing is proving that He trusted you with the assignment.

He knew you’d fight back. He knew you’d wrestle your way to a breakthrough. He knew you’d stand up again and say, “Even this will glorify my God.”

So don’t resent the grit. Bless it.

Because the gospel according to grit says: “I went through hell, but I came back holding heaven.”
